Ingredients

Cake

  • 120g (1 cup) flour
  • 150g (3/4 cup) sugar
  • 21g (1/4 cup) cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • Vanilla

Hot fudge sauce

  • 100g (1/2 cup) sugar
  • 106g (1/2 cup) brown sugar
  • 21g (1/4 cup) cocoa powder
  • 1 1/4 cup boiling water

Directions

  1. Whisk dry ingredients for the cake.
  2. Add the wet ingredients. Spread batter into greased 8×8 pan.
  3. Whisk dry ingredients for the hot fudge sauce, and sprinkle over the top of the batter.
  4. Very carefully and slowly pour the boiling water over the top. Do not mix!
  5. Bake 350°F for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is almost set. The top will look cooked but it will be gooey underneath. Serve with vanilla ice cream!
