Ingredients
- Bacon (4-5 strips, or desired amount)
- 1 onion (diced)
- 4-5 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 8 ounces pasta
- Spinach (desired amount)
- Dash of red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper (desired amounts)
- Parmesan (to top the pasta, use desired amount)
Directions
- Cut bacon strips into pieces and sauté until brown and crispy. Remove the bacon and pour off any excess fat, leaving a small amount in the pan.
- Add the diced onion to the pan and cook until soft and transparent. Add the garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Add the chicken broth, pasta, and seasonings to the pan.
- Cover and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat and let simmer with the cover on for about 10 minutes, or until the pasta is soft.
- Remove from the heat and add spinach. Let the spinach wilt or heat up (depending on if fresh or frozen was used).
- Right before serving, mix the cooked bacon into the pasta.
- Serve topped with Parmesan cheese if desired.
