Ingredients
- Dough
- 1 cup water (heated to about 100-110°F)
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp oil
- 2 1/2 cups bread flour
- Topping
- Butter (melted)
- Garlic powder
- Parsley
- Salt and pepper
- Parmesan (sprinkle on if desired)
Directions
- Add heated water, sugar, and yeast to a bowl. Let bloom for about 5 minutes.
- Add all of the dough ingredients to a bowl and mix to combine.
- Using the dough hook, knead the dough until it pulls from the sides of the bowl and it is smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough, divide and roll into desired size for breadsticks. I usually do 8-10 sticks.
- Cover loosely and let rise for 20 minutes.
- Bake at 400°F for 16-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While baking, whisk together the topping ingredients.
- Brush the topping on the breadsticks as soon as they come out of the oven (and sprinkle with parmesan if desired).
