Ingredients

  • Tilapia
    • 4 tilapia fillets
    • 1/2 tsp chili powder
    • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
    • 1/4 tsp cumin
    • Salt and pepper (desired amount)
  • Sauce
    • 1 tbsp butter
    • 1 onion (diced)
    • Garlic (3-4 cloves, minced)
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream
    • 1/2 cup chicken broth
    • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
    • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
    • Salt and pepper (desired amount)

Directions

  1. Heat oil in pan over medium heat. Meanwhile, combined spices and use to season the tilapia fillets.
  2. Add seasoned tilapia to the hot pan and cook for about 3 minutes on each side, or until it cooked through. Remove tilapia from the pan and set aside.
  3. Add the butter and onion to the same pan and cook until softened. Add in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Whisk in the heavy cream, broth, and tomato sauce. Add the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a slow boil and simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
  6. Return the tilapia to the pan and cook for an additional couple of minutes, or until everything is heated through.
